The GhISP/Pangea Africa partnership
With a geographical focus on West Africa, Pangea Global Ventures works to accelerate the transformation of emerging agri-business systems from subsistence agriculture to a productive, profitable innovative sector. Building bridges between West African entrepreneurs and global impact investors, the company provides pre- and post-investment support to early-stage enterprise, with a focus on agribusiness and energy. We partner with Pangea in a dual capacity—as a transaction advisory partner and as a service provider.
Climate finance investment opportunities: Pangea, in partnership with the Climate Policy Initiative, produced our research report, Climate Finance Investment Opportunities in Ghana. The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the climate finance landscape in Ghana, focusing on three key aspects:
Build a list of climate finance sectors and activities in Ghana
Identify current climate finance investments in Ghana
Examine the diverse climate-impact investment opportunities offered by SMEs
The report was originally launched in November 2023 through a stakeholder engagement event that sought to help capital providers understand the framework of climate financing and to connect these capital providers to enterprises that fit the criteria. The research findings remain highly relevant and were more recently presented during a climate finance roundtable event, led by British International Investment’s Managing Director & Head of Climate, Diversity and Advisory, Amal-Lee Amin, and at the 2025 Africa Impact Summit in Accra.
Catalysing private capital deal flow: Pangea implemented our Industry and Business Associations Pipeline Development project, which aimed to catalyse future private capital deal flow through industry and business associations (IBAs). As part of the project, Pangea formed partnerships with eight IBAs and conducted seven ecosystem building events that convened capital providers, transaction advisors and SMEs. The initiative strengthened the associations’ capacity to educate members on private capital opportunities; developed a pipeline of IBA-member enterprises; and facilitated high-value investment matches between mid-cap companies, transaction advisors and investors.
The IBA project surfaced 200 SMEs, of which 52 were shortlisted as high potential investees. Of these, 36 were matched with investors/capital providers, and 27 were matched with transaction advisors. In just a few months following the matchmaking activities, at least 13 of the companies have received expressions of investor interest, with some companies attracting multiple investor enquiries.
